Donepezil, also known as Aricept, is a medication used to treat the symptoms of mild, moderate, and severe Alzheimer’s disease. It belongs to a class of drugs called cholinesterase inhibitors, which work by increasing the levels of a chemical called acetylcholine in the brain.
