Description
Arkamin 100 mcg is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It is also used to prevent migraine attacks and similar types of headache, prevent hot flushes in women during the menopause (change of life). Arkamin is a tablet form of Clonidine HCL containing 100 mcg per tablet. It is prescribed to treat people with extremely high levels of blood pressure, also known as hypertension. The medicine works by easing the blood vessels, helping free blood flow. The medicine works to eliminate hot flashes, ADHD (Attention-Deficit-Hyperactivity-Disorder) and menstruation pains. Arkamin active constituent is clonidine. Clonidine belongs to a group of drugs known as vasodilators. It widens and relaxes the blood vessel which helps the blood to flow more easily. This in turn lowers blood pressure and makes a heart to beat more slowly and easily. This medication is an alpha agonist, prescribed for high blood pressure. By diminishing the level of certain chemicals in the blood it lowers blood pressure.
PRECAUTION
Do not take Arkamin 100 mcg if you have an allergy to the active constituent of the drug or any other part of this drug. Tell your healthcare specialist if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about the rash, hives, itching, shortness of breath, wheezing, cough, swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat, or any other signs. Clonidine can make you drowsy, so do not drive or participate in any hazardous activities until you know how clonidine affects you. Drinking alcohol or using sedatives may also increase these side effects of clonidine. Always take medicine as per the guidelines provided by prescriber. Always follow the storage conditions provided with your medications. Sometimes drugs are not safe when you take them with certain other drugs and food. Taking them together can cause bad side effects. Be sure to talk to your doctor about all the drugs you take.
SIDE EFFECTS
Feeling lightheaded, sleepy, having blurred eye vision, or a change in thinking ability. Avoid driving and doing other tasks or actions that call for you to be alert or have clear eyesight until you see how this drug affects you. Feeling dizzy. Rise slowly over a few minutes when sitting or lying down. Drinking more water, working out, or adding fibre food to your diet may help.
